Good Friday and Easter Day 2022

The week leading up to Easter is called Holy Week. It begins with Palm Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday, but each day in between comes with its own name and celebrations. Good Friday is one of them.

Good Friday marks the day Jesus died on the cross. Good Friday is celebrated the Friday before Easter Sunday. Many observe the day by fasting and attending church services but is generally observed in different traditions around the world. Those in Central America use colorful sawdust to create art that are religious or nature-focused

Easter Sunday is generally associated with eggs. Eggs have long been a symbol of life and rebirth; in this case resurrection. Painting and dying eggs pre-dates Christianity. Jamaicans used eggs to separate its yolk from its white and pour it in a glass of water. Patterns of the white will form in the sun’s heat. Elders believe patterns reveal how a person may pass.

Art, painting and patterns; well sounds a lot like us painting game courts!
